Black Pepper Tofu Steak
Ingredients:
- 1 box Unicurd Pressed Tofu
- 1 cup water or stock
- 1 tbsp coarse black pepper
- 1/2 tbsp plain flour
- 1 clove garlic, grated
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp soybean oil
Sauce ingredients:
- 1 tbsp lea perrins & sauce
- 1/2 tbsp soy sauce
- Salt and sugar to taste
Method:
- Slice tofu sideways into 2 equal pieces (shape into patty), drain off excess water, sprinkle with salt and pepper
- Heat up oil, pan-fry tofu till golden brown, place tofu onto a service place
- Fry plain flour with 1 tbsp of butter till fragrant, add in grated garlic and coarse black pepper; pour in sufficient water or stock to form a thick gravy
- Add in seasoning and simmer for a while. Pour onto tofu steak.
Hot Tips:
Serve with French fries, cucumber and carrots for a complete meal.
